The Czech company Excalibur Army officially unveiled its latest patrol vehicle, the Hector, during the Future Forces Forum 2024.

The announcement was made by the Czechoslovak Group, which includes Excalibur Army, via their official channel on X. The Hector is a development of the Viktor mobile anti-aircraft system, which has been successfully deployed in Ukraine.

Like the Viktor, the Hector is based on the sturdy Toyota Land Cruiser 79, ensuring reliability and performance in tough terrains. However, the new model brings significant upgrades, being equipped with a remote-controlled combat module, the Guardian 1.5 RCWS, developed by the Spanish company Escribano.

This combat module is equipped with a powerful 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun and features an electro-optical system capable of detecting targets up to 14 km away during the day and 10 km at night. The system is similar to those used in modernized Ukrainian armored vehicles such as the M113 and SBA Kozak-5, enhancing its efficiency and versatility.

Inside the Hector, under the weapon compartment, there is additional space for storing spare barrels, ammunition, spare parts, and crew equipment. The vehicle can accommodate a crew of two: the driver and the weapon station operator, who sits in the passenger seat.

Combining accessibility, simplicity in operation, and powerful armament, the Hector is ideal for various functions such as border protection, reconnaissance, and even as part of C-UAS (Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems).

This launch consolidates Excalibur Army’s position as one of the leading suppliers of efficient and modern military solutions, ready to meet the challenges of modern warfare.
